Psalm 119

This week's Come Follow Me invited us to take Psalms 119 which has 176 verses and focus on the verses with the words walk, path, way, feet and wander. As I did this I was reminded of an experience that I have had a couple of months ago. I am finding it more and more challenging to navigate in the dark. I had gotten lost in the dark and I believed that the car was having engine problems so I parked it next to the Auto part store on the corner of 36th West and 54th South and told myself I knew my way home from there. Instead of staying in the main roads I decided to go through the subdivision. It didn't take long for me to realized that I was lost again. The streets were dark and becoming scary but then I prayed and I felt that a light was before me. 15. I will meditate in thy precepts and have respect unto thy ways 27. The Joy of Daily Repentance

  As we talked today about the Joy of Daily Repentance today at Relief Society, it reminded me of Psalm 19:12-13 12 Who can understand his errors? Cleanse Thou me from secret faults. 13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous acts; let them not have dominion over me; then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgressions.  This Psalm of David talks about "secret faults" and "presumptuous acts".  I believe he was talking about the faults we are not seeing in ourselves and those acts that we fail to recognize as inappropriate. I remember in one of my child development classes from BYU stating that parents make about 12 statements a day that have a negative impact on their children without even being aware. Words can hurt and we don't even realize it. I love the idea of starting each day by asking our Heavenly Father. "Have I hurt any of your children unaware?" "How can I repent from that?"
